Of the 3, I’ve only read The Host, which I absolutely loved.

First, don’t listen to anyone who has only read the beginning of the book–the beginning is hard to get thru, but well worth it–it gets better and better. It is about love and humanity written from the perspective of a non-human. It’s a tearjerker because you come to really care about the characters.

For impatient readers, I’ve summarized the key points of the first 10 chapters (no spoilers). Now you can go straight to the action. You’ll find yourself wanting to read the beginning later.

The aliens call themselves “souls” and in their natural form are 3″ long silver bodies shaped like ribbons with hundreds of hairlike limbs called “attachments” which they stretch out to attach themselves to the brain and nerve centers of the host they occupy. The eyes of an occupied human shine silver in the light. The story begins with a “soul” called Wanderer being inserted into the body of Melanie, a human. The doctor who inserts her is named Fords Deep Waters (the aliens have long names referring to their lives on past planets). We share Wanderer’s memories of past planets, like the See-Weeds, just to show how different they were from earth. Wanderer is trying to get rid of Mel’s consciousness and voice inside her head, because she shouldn’t have stayed in her body. Wanderer is reporting back to the “Seeker”–a type of detective whose job is to find and capture fugitive humans. Mel yearns to find her lost love and her little brother, who are still human, and keeps throwing memories of them at Wanderer to make her understand the importance of finding them and protecting them from being captured. Wanderer is overwhelmed by the human emotions of Mel’s memories, and the conversations with Mel in her head are starting to change her.

To the buffet table…decoration idea>> take tall glass vases and fill with colored water (food coloring to tint) to float a tea light in it (place carefully), but you don’t want to fill ALL the way up. And before you put the tea light in, wrap a mask (bought or homemade) around the vase, cut a rubberband and hot glue to mask to give it a snug fit around.

Decorate that mask by making a hole in upper left corner (while looking at it) to add curling ribbons trailing down….keep with colors purple, green, gold. Add feather plumes glued behind the mask…embellish with small bells, jewels, sequins, glitter, etc. This way when completed, the candle glow will show through the “eyes” of the mask for a nice effect.

Three tails, Sanbi Isonade. In legend it is shark shaped but can also shaped like any sea creature. Has a subordinate named samehada (*cough* kisame’s sword’s name) which allows it to get almost unlimited chakra. Currently held by Akatsuki.
Four Tails, Yonbi Sokou. A phenox that lived near mount fuji. Controls poison, poisonous gases, etc.
Five tails, Gobi Hokou. It is a cat dingo,each tail representing an element: wind, water, fire, earth and lightning which can be used to cause catostrophic damage. God of illusions. Lives in a giant tree.
6 tail, Rokubi Raijuu. In the form of a weasal or wolf but originally was the god of thunder. Can release huge amounts of electricity for battle. Can also use lightning in any way shape or form. Can fly about in a ball of fire/lightning.
Seven Tails, Shichibi Kaku. The form of a badger. the smallest but also most cunning and stealthy of the bijuu. It kills by burrowing underground it’s target and collapsing the ground under it’s target. Can transform into any creature as long as it has clay. God of earth.
8 tails, Hachibi Yamata no Orochi (yes orochi as in orochimaru…….it means snake). An eight headed and eight tailed Ox. Has the power of the demon world and is a sign of evil. Was originally weak but then absorbed the sword Kusanagi no Tsurugi and gained alot of power.(reminds you of orochimaru’s sword huh?). Rivals with the Kyuubi.

Over the past month I’ve lost nine pounds without even trying and I’ve had these dark lines in the creases my neck for as long as I can remember.

Am I just being paraniod? I’m only a teenager.
I can also make my vision blur, some how?

Diabetes Type 1: Symtoms of type 2

In type 1, the pancreas stop producing insulin, due to autuimmune response or possibly viral attack on pancreas. In absence of insulin, body cells does not get glucose for producing ATP (Adenosin Triphosphate) units which results into primary symptom in the form of nausea and vomiting. In latter stage which leads to ketoacidosis in which body starts breaking down muscle tissue and fat for energy, there is consequently fast weight loss. Dehydration is also usually observed due to electrolyte disturbance. In advance stages even coma and death, are being witnessed.

Diabetes Type 2:

* Increased fatigue : Due to inefficiency of cell to metabolise glucose, reserve fat of body is metabolised to gain energy. When fat is broken down in the body, it uses more energy as compared to glucose, hence body goes in negative calorie effect, which results in fatigue.
* Polydipsia : As the concentration of glucose increases in the blood, brain receives signal for diluting it and in its counteraction we feel thirsty.
* Polyuria: Increase in urine production is the result seen when excess of glucose is present in body. Body tries to get rid of the extra sugar in the blood by excreting it through the urine. This can also lead to dehydration because excreting the sugar which carries a large amount of water out of the body along with it.
* Polyphegia : The hormone insulin is also responsible for stimulating hunger. In order to cope up with high sugar levels in blood, body produces insulin which leads to increased hunger.
* Weight flactuation : Factors like loss of water (polyuria), glucosuria , metabolism of body fat and protein may lead to loss of weight. Few cases may show weight gain due to increased appetite.
* Blurry vision : Hyperosmolar hyperglycemia nonketotic syndrome is the condition when body fluid is pulled out of tissues including lenses of eye, which affects the ability of lenses to focus resulting in blurry vision.
* Irritability : It is one of the sign of high blood sugar because of the inefficient supply of glucose to brain and other body organs, which makes us feel tired and uneasy.
* Infections : Certain signals from the body is given whenever there is fluctuation of blood sugar (due to suppression of immune system) by frequent infections of fungal or bacterial like skin infection or UTI (urinary tract infection).
* Poor wound healing : High blood sugar resists the flourishing of WBC, (white blood cell) which are responsible for body immune system. When these cells do not function accordingly, wound healing is not at good pace. Secondly, long standing diabetes leads to thickening of blood vessels which may affect proper circulation of blood in different body parts.

Acanthosis nigricans is a skin condition characterized by dark, thick, velvety skin in body folds and creases. Most often, acanthosis nigricans affects your armpits, groin and neck.

Acanthosis nigricans is often associated with conditions that increase your insulin level, such as type 2 diabetes or being overweight. If your insulin level is too high, the extra insulin may trigger activity in your skin cells. This may cause the characteristic skin changes.

You could buy a variety of different prizes from the dollar store, or how ever much you want to spend on prizes. Wrap them all up in wrapping paper, so the kids don’t know what’s inside. Whenever they win a game, they get to choose a wrapped gift for their prize, or at the end of the carnival, everyone who hasn’t won a prize gets to choose a gift from the table too.

Candy bars make great prizes too, that would be fine, kids love that. You could have the prize/gifts set out so they can buy them with their tickets, so the kids who won more get to buy more, but just look around and (unless you are having 50 kids come to this party) it should be easy to see who isn’t winning any and let them pick out a prize from the table too. You could put someone in charge of keeping track of the prizes won.

I know when I go to a baby shower or a bridal shower where they have games and a few people win gifts, I think it’s great when I win, and fine when I don’t, I’m always happy to see that someone won something.

you should let them win a prize for winning the game, this teaches them that not everybody wins everything all the time in life.
